12th and 13th November 2026 · Fabra i Coats

On the mornings of 12 and 13 November, DAU Barcelona opens its doors to schools and secondary schools, giving students the opportunity to discover, play and learn through board games.

During 90-minute sessions, groups will discover and try out different games with the support of facilitators. This shared experience provides a hands-on way to develop skills such as decision-making, problem-solving, critical thinking, communication and cooperation, as well as attention, planning and self-regulation.

The activity is based on Game-Based Learning (GBL) and introduces schools to the potential of board games as an educational and cultural resource.

The activity is free of charge and is aimed at students in Years 5 and 6 of primary education and compulsory secondary education (ESO).

An experience that continues in the classroom

Schools at DAU aims to extend the experience beyond the visit to the festival. Participating schools will have access to tools and resources to prepare for the day and continue exploring games as an educational resource.

  • Preparation and follow-up. Activities and ideas to connect the DAU Barcelona experience with classroom learning before and after the visit.
  • Educational resources. Materials to help teachers further explore the educational potential of board games.
  • Supporting diverse needs. A quiet, adapted space where students who need it can take part in the activity in a more comfortable environment.
  • Support for schools. Assistance for teaching teams before and during the visit to help facilitate the organisation and experience of each group.
